Postavy Dairy increases export by 78% in January-April 2011

VITEBSK, 26 May (BelTA) – In January-April 2011 the export of Postavy Dairy totaled almost $2 million or 78% up over the same period last year, BelTA learnt from the company. The main importers of the company’s products were Russia, Poland, and Germany. Postavy Dairy delivered 42 tonnes of butter and 91 tonnes of cheese to the Russian Federation. Some 119 and 40 tonnes of casein were shipped to Poland and Germany respectively. The forecast for May stands at $3 million or 39% up over the level of January-May 2010. The experts at the company say that the slow growth is caused by the considerable batches of dairy products that had been shipped in May 2010. In January-April 2011 the company’s output totaled Br20 billion or 24% over the same period 2010. The export accounted for 27% of the sales profits. The energy saving index is -10.5%. In January-April 2011 the volume of capital investments was more than Br700 million. The figure is expected to stand at Br36 billion by the end of the year. The company plans to implement a large-scale project this year – to build a new cheese-making facility with the capacity of 20 tonnes a day. The design and estimate documentation is being worked out at the moment. It is planned to be sent for examination in June, and the company will be able to get down to the construction works in August or September. The company also upgrades its waste treatment facilities. Postavy Dairy produces cheeses, whole milk, casein, ice cream, mayonnaise. The production lineup of the company features more than 40 items. Including 20 whole milk products. The company employs more than 280 persons.
