Union State Day at Slavonic Bazaar a success

VITEBSK, 11 July (BelTA) – A gala performance dedicated to the Union State Day at the 20th International Arts Festival Slavonic Bazaar took place on 10 July, BelTA has learned. Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State, Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Boris Gryzlov in his greeting called the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk Festival a prestigious ground for the representatives of different cultures. He stressed that common culture and history of Belarusian and Russian people is a key to success for the Union State. “During 20 years the festival holds a specific place in the hearts of those who value the Slavonic cultural heritage,” Boris Gryzlov stressed. State secretary of the Union State Pavel Borodin said: “Slavonic Bazaar demonstrates that we lived, live and will live together.” He presented special diplomas of the Union State Permanent Committee to cultural figures from both countries. Among diploma winners were stage director of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Hall Nina Osipova, Distinguished Artist of Russia Varvara and others. Partaking in the gala performance were Alexandra Pakhmutova, Nikolai Dobronravov, Yadviga Poplavskaya and Alexander Tikhanovich, Irina Dorofeyeva, Ruslan Alekhno, Varvara, Kim Breidburg, etc.
