Belarus’ export to Germany soars 3.5 times in Q1

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – In Q1 2011, the export of goods to Germany rose 3.5 times over the same period in 2010 to $403.7 million, BelTA learnt from the National Statistics Committee. The import from Germany rose 1.4 times to nearly $555 million. Overall, in January-March 2011 Belarus-Germany trade increased 1.9 times to $958.7 million. Besides in Q1 2011, the export of goods to Russia rose 1.4 times to $2.85 billion, the export to the Netherlands amounted to $1.05 billion (up 1.5 times), to Ukraine $686.5 million (up 1.7 times), to Latvia $475.6 million (up 4.1 times), to Brazil $284.8 million (up 2 times), to Lithuania $168.3 million (up 1.7 times), to Kazakhstan $111.6 million (up 1.2 times), to France $23.5 million (up 1.7 times). In Q1 2011, Belarus increased the import of goods from a number of countries. The import from Russia rose 1.5 times (to make up $5.4 billion), from China 1.9 times ($521.3 million), from Ukraine 1.5 times ($510.2 million), from Venezuela 7,900 times ($478.7 million), from Azerbaijan 188 times ($358.6 million), from Poland 1.7 times ($312.15 million), from Italy 1.3 times ($207.9 million), from Brazil 2 times ($155.07 million), from the United States 1.4 times ($109.6 million). Overall, in Q1 2011 Belarus increased trade 1.6 times over the same period in 2010 to $18.5 billion. The export rose 1.5 times to $7.7 billion, the import went up 1.7 times to $10.8 billion.
