Belarus’ GDP up 9.1% in January-August

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – In January-August 2011 Belarus' gross domestic product went up 9.1% over the same period last year to reach Br155.1 trillion, BelTA learned from spokesperson of the National Statistics Committee Yelena Kondratenko. In line with the socio-economic development forecast of Belarus, the GDP is projected to increase by 9-10% over the same period of 2010. In January-August 201 the industrial output was up by 11% to reach Br174.6 trillion while the annual target was 9-9.5%. The share of innovative products in the total shipped volume reached 16.9% while the annual target is set at 12-13%. In January-August 2011 fixed capital investments reached 118.9% as against the same period of last year, with the annual target at 116-117%.
