Belarus President’s greetings on Constitution Day

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated his people on Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service. “The fundamental law expresses the will and aspiration of the Belarusian people for genuine sovereignty, social justice and progress. The adoption of this document has opened a new page in our history, given a strong impetus to consolidating the values of democracy, contributed to the formation of the legal framework of the country’s state system,” the message of congratulations says. According to the President, the Constitution lays down democratic principles of social development, guarantees human rights and freedoms, secures law and order, and strengthens civil accord and stability. “And today this fundamental law let us move forward with confidence on the way of setting up a strong state with a highly developed modern economy, efficient system of social security, unique national culture, and a coherent international policy,” the Belarusian leader noted. Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that further strengthening of the constructional fundamentals would be a reliable basis for holding consistent civil transformations with a view of fulfilling the creative potential, spirit of enterprise and initiative of the people. The head of state wished his compatriots health, happiness, wellbeing and every success in the work for the benefit of dear Belarus.
