Belarus, Ukraine Culture Ministers discuss cooperation projects

VITEBSK, 12 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian and Ukrainian Culture Ministries are interested in expanding cooperation. Culture Minister of Belarus Pavel Latushko met with his Ukrainian counterpart Mikhail Kulynyak in Vitebsk to discuss promising cooperation projects, BelTA learned from spokesperson for the Culture Ministry Anna Smolskaya. Particularly, the ministers focused on the prospects in education, museum and library science, the arrangement of guest performances of the Yanka Kupala Theater and the Ivan Franko Theater. Belarus is keen on cooperation with Ukrainian universities in professional training for students, postgraduates, doctoral candidates, teachers of cultural universities. Moreover, the ministers discussed an opportunity to show a presentation on the system of benefits in the cinema industry in Belarus. The presentation is sponsored by film makers and specialists from Ukraine and other countries. Special attention was given to the cooperation within the framework of the regional program of the European Council “Kyiv Initiative.” Pavel Latushko expressed his gratitude for help to implement the initiative of the Belarusian Culture Ministry to erect a monument to the outstanding Belarusian writer and poet Vladimir Korotkevich in Kyiv.
