MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – An online hotel booking system has been launched in Belarus, BelTA learned from Aleksei Glamozda, Deputy Director for Business Development of the Belarusian company Generation_P Consulting. The company is the one in charge of developing software for the project. At present around 40 Belarusian hotels are available via the system. One can book a room via Belarus’ official website belarus.by (Tourism section) and the website of the National Tourism Agency. The number of hotels available for online booking is supposed to double in the next few months. In addition, the national system is ready for integration with international consolidators. Foreign colleagues showed a genuine interest in the Belarusian system during talks, said Aleksei Glamozda. As the system has national status, it will provide a single access point to most Belarusian hotels. In the near future the online booking system will be upgraded to allow visitors to book a recreation center, book a car, an automobile transfer or a sightseeing tour. The national consolidator has plans to make available most sightseeing tours that Belarusian travel agencies offer. At present there are around 1,000 excursion routes available in Belarus. The national online booking system is part of the united tourist information network, which includes a website for tourists, information terminals and other things. The project is focused on making information about Belarus’ tourist resources easily available.
