Lukashenko: No talks yet to sell Belaruskali

MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) - President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said he did not have any negotiations on Belaruskali sale. “There are rumors that the company has been sold already. I have not had any negotiations on this issue with anyone,” Alexander Lukashenko said at the government session held on 10 June to discuss Belaruskali’s development. “What is there to negotiate? The price has been announced. If you have the money, you are welcome to come over,” the President said. According to the President, if you want to make reassessment of the company, “please do. But the $30 billion price has been intact so far.” “I reiterate: you give the money, you get the shares. You will get only the amount which you are capable of paying for, considering the price of $30 billion. I see no other option,” the President said. Alexander Lukashenko has also noted that there are clients that are ready to pay $30 billion for the company. “They are welcome to come,” he added. According to the head of state, $30 billion is enough to build three more companies such as Belkali using the latest technologies. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that the raw material base is sufficient. “We should act very cautious to make sure the prices for potash fertilizer do not plummet,” he added.
