President Alexander Lukashenko makes new appointments

MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) - President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made some new appointments on 26 August, BelTA was informed in the president's press service. The head of state has appointed: Enver Bariev - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Turkmenistan; Valery Voronetsky - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative of Belarus to International Organizations in Vienna, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Croatia on concurrent; Natalia Zhilevich - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea; Vladimir Chushev - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Serbia; Sergei Rednenko - First Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee. The President has given his consent to the following appointments: Mikhail Sitko - Chairman of the Volkovysk District Executive Committee; Anton Kulisevich - Chairman of the Berestovitsa District Executive Committee; Igor Balakhonov - Chairman of the Krasnopolie District Executive Committee; Alexander Korol - Consul General of Belarus to Gdansk (Poland); Konstantin Mayanov - General Director of the Grodno Azot Plant; Igor Kostyukov - Deputy Minister of Architecture and Construction; Dmitry Semenkevich - Deputy Minister of Architecture and Construction; Vladimir Matusevich - Deputy Information Minister; Dmitry Shedko - Deputy Information Minister; Natalya Kochanova – member of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee; Sergey Anishchik – chief of staff, a member of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee; Inna Kharlamenkova - Deputy Director of the Department for Customs-Tariff and Nontariff Regulation of the Secretariat of the Commission of the Customs Union. Addressing the diplomats, Alexander Lukashenko stressed that they are experienced and well-skilled specialists. “There is no need to set forth any tasks for you. You are all highly-qualified professionals that have held high posts and well aware of the country's needs in terms of politics and diplomacy,” he said. “You understand that the policy of our state is focused on economy, export and its advancement. In the near future, perhaps by the end of the year or in early 2012, we will analyze the work of diplomatic missions and foreign trade offices,” the head of state noted. He took note of certain problems in this field. “The problems that arise in our country from time to time, including financial ones, are first of all connected with this,” he stressed. “Your goal is to work day and night and provide concrete results. These are investments and promising projects to sell Belarusian products. That is the main thing at this point,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.
